Our passion for ice cream runs 3 generations strong.

Grandma Sharron opened her ice cream shop in Sarasota, Florida in 1990. Sharron became known for her kindness and for her wonderful relationship with her customers. After 12 years of serving ice cream, Grandma Sharron decided to retire.

From there, we decided to bring all Grandma Sharron’s equipment and recipes to MN and keep the family tradition going. We opened our first Big Dipper Creamery in 2003 in Blaine. Our passion for ice cream and attention to detail have helped us stand out!

Our son Tyler started working in the ice cream shop at the age of 8. He helped out by washing tables, doing dishes, and cleaning the store. By the time he was in high school he had learned the cash register and began scooping ice cream for the customers. From there he learned the art of how to make the ice cream. Tyler is a vital part of Big Dipper Creamery. He runs the day to day operations and makes all the ice cream. His passion and love for the brand is something you won’t miss.

In 2017, we opened a second location in North Oaks, MN. We have such a strong love for the communities we are in and hope to continue to grow.

We have always been and will continue to be committed to handcrafted, quality ice cream using fresh, delicious ingredients.

Minnesota cows make better cream. We work closely with local farmers to source fresh, natural cream as well as naturally ingredients whenever possible.

Our cream is the wholesome foundation of Big Dipper Creamery ice cream. We take it seriously, and it makes all the difference.
